Why aren’t my apps downloading on my new iPhone?
I just bought a brand-new iPhone and was really looking forward to using it. However, I’m facing an annoying problem: my apps aren’t downloading. I’ve attempted multiple times to install apps from the App Store, but they either get stuck in the ‘waiting’ phase or fail to download altogether. This is particularly frustrating because I need some of these apps for my daily activities, and I can’t understand what’s causing the issue. My internet connection seems to be fine, and I’ve even restarted my phone several times, but nothing has worked so far. It’s becoming a major hassle, and I’m starting to worry if there’s something wrong with my new iPhone, or if I’m missing something obvious.

Here’s what I tried first: restarting the iPhone. It sounds simple, but this method often sorts out minor glitches. I turned off the phone, waited for a few seconds, and then turned it back on. After this, I signed out from the App Store via Settings > [my name] > Media & Purchases and signed back in. Interestingly, this resolved the issue for me.

Your cellular data settings might also be the culprit: 1. In Settings > Cellular, I ensured that the App Store was allowed to use cellular data. 2. I set ‘App Downloads’ to ‘Always Allow’ for cellular data usage. This was especially useful when Wi-Fi was unreliable, allowing the downloads to proceed over cellular data.

Surprisingly, the issue was due to insufficient storage. Although my iPhone was new, it quickly ran out of free space: 1. I opened Settings and went to General > iPhone Storage. 2. I checked the storage chart and found that I was running low. After deleting some photos and unused apps, I had enough space, and the downloads worked.

It could be a server-side issue with Apple: 1. I checked the Apple System Status page to see if there were any outages with the App Store service. 2. When the status showed operational, I tried downloading the apps again, and it worked. So, sometimes patience and checking for server status can be the key.

In my experience, refreshing the Wi-Fi connection helped: 1. I opened Settings and tapped on Wi-Fi. 2. I selected my network, tapped ‘Forget This Network,’ and then re-entered my Wi-Fi password to reconnect. This re-established a stable network connection, and the downloads started working smoothly.

You might need a network reset on your iPhone. Here’s what worked for me: 1. I opened Settings and navigated to General. 2. I chose Reset and then Reset Network Settings. This reset all my Wi-Fi networks, passwords, and cellular settings back to their defaults. Once I reconnected to my Wi-Fi, the app downloads resumed without any issues.

Refreshing the App Store worked for me: 1. I opened the App Store and tapped repeatedly on any tab at the bottom for about 10 times. This refreshed the App Store. Once done, the downloads began to work perfectly. Additionally, ensuring that my iPhone wasn’t in Low Power Mode also solved the issue.
